Where the right chemistry is created!

The success story of the world's leading dioxin laboratory, Eurofins GfA Lab Service GmbH, started in Münster in 1985 as an  environmental lab that specialised in the analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and dioxins.

Today the staff of Eurofins GfA Lab Service GmbH process with the assistance of cutting-edge lab technology combined with outstanding expertise all types of samples in compliance with test methods accredited by the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard in the state-of-the-art laboratory centre in Hamburg. The main focus of our analytical portfolio is the examination of organic contaminants in the ultra-trace range. Representative for a number of parameters, we examine in almost every matrix chlorinated dioxins and furans, PCBs, brominated and other flame retardants, per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS, also known as PFC) as well as organotin compounds.

Matrices being of importance for analysis are for example:

  • Food and feed materials of all kinds
  • Environmental samples such as water, soil, sediment, plants, waste and sewage sludge
  • Air samples (emissions/immissions, indoor air)
  • Samples of human origin such as blood, breast milk, adipose tissue

Eurofins GfA Lab Service GmbH is one of the worldwide few laboratories that is able to analyse nearly all persistent organic pollutants (POPs) banned or regulated in the Stockholm Convention in its own laboratory. As well we are in a position to analyse all 209 PCBs including the dioxin-like PCBs (DL-PCBs, also known as WHO-PCBs) and the Indicator /ICES6 or ndl-PCBs (non dioxin-like PCBs) as required by the California Proposition 65, in our own laboratory.
